FOR YOU MY LOVE

I asked for a sunrise and you gave it willingly, never knowing of the happy tears that sprang forth as I bathed in the warmth of your love.

I placed my hand in yours and felt your fingers wrap around mine as we walked in silence, not needing words, and we both knew that it was and we were enough.

Hand in hand, gazing at the sunrise, turning to face each other and seeing our souls reflected in each other's eyes, I touched your cheek tenderly, knowing that if I had to pick one moment in time to hold, this would be that moment. And you smiled, reading my mind, holding me close.

As we watched the sun rise from the East, sharing the miracle of a new day blessing all we were and all we would be I leaned against you and felt your arms encircle my waist. I breathed a sigh of contentment.

The new day greeted us, bursting with splendor. OUR DAY!

Sitting beneath the rainbow tree,
snuggling, laughing, discovering the child
within each of us and accepting without
condition the wants and needs still
required. Giving willingly and accepting in
return.

Reaching up, I pulled the pin that held my
hair up and let it tumble down my
shoulders, shaking my head and laughing
as you reached over, brushed some stands
away from my face and teasingly played
with the big hoop earings dangling from
my ear lobes.

Laying back in the crook of your arm,
feeling the sun softly touch my eyelids as
your lips brushed against mine.

Smiling up at you, whispering words never
spoken and hearing your voice mingle
with my fulfillment.

Time and distance was at once
meaningless. Selfishly clinging to this
moment, not letting go. The past
forgotten, the future far off. We were here,
complete, together and that's all that
mattered.

Walking along the water's edge, singing long forgotten songs, stumbling over lyrics and making up our own, our reflections joined in the magic that was us.

Finding the abandoned picnic table you spoke of, sitting on it and staring out across the water at "our" little island, my head on your shoulder, my hand in yours.

Peace and tranquility surrounded us and gave its blessings.

Hand in hand, our souls joined, never to part, as we bonded with the magnificence of the day.

And as the shadows lengthened a sadness stirred deep within me, not wanting the day to end. I gazed into your eyes, seeing my sadness reflected and I tried to smile.

Your hand gave mine a gentle squeeze and we both knew. No words were needed. You wrapped your arms around me and I clung to you, our hearts beating as one, melting into each other.

We sat on the soft grass, your arm around my shoulders, keeping me warm as we watched the sun slowly set.
