WAR........ by John Stewart Mill
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things: The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks nothing is worth a War, is worse... A man who has nothing which he cares more about than he does about his personal safety is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
Richard Carter

I would like to say thanks to all men and women that served and are still serving in the armed services.
I would love for all to know I am a very proud sister of my brother, Ronald Compas. He went in army as a very young boy ... returned after stepping on a land mine. He suffers daily not only with the physical pains but with the horrible memories that he went through for his country. OUR COUNTRY, USA...
To know him is a great honor and I`m very proud to say he is my brother ...
Love
your sis

Not a day goes by that I do not see some of the results of the sacrifices made so that I can live a life of freedom and liberty .. .. For you see, I work at a Veterans Hospital. Many Veterans today believe that no one cares about them .. .. Joy works very hard to change that attitude. I am privileged and honored to have the opportunity to contribute to that effort .. ..
There have been Veterans in my family for generations, and I am proud of them, I honor and respect them. Just as I do all of you who read this, all who have served and are serving now. You are ALL heroes to me.
Thank You & God Bless You.

Green is for Growing In Grace...and that's what our Veterans have no doubt done. Many Wars during the 1900s and even now.
I never thought much about the people that went off to fight for Freedom, or even protected us during the Cold and Silent times. Then at forty I went to work for the American Legion. I spent almost twenty years working side by side with our Veterans.
I learned an awful lot about our Veterans (still donating their time) for Military Funerals, Children and Youth, Americanism, ROTC Awards...just to name a few.
Our Loyal, dedicated Veterans (most of them) continue to care for our Country to their grave.
That's just how they are. God has Blessed America with a multitude of Veterans that 'Just keep on serving, no uniform needed.' ~ Just Big Hearts.

America
God built Him a continent of glory
and filled it with treasures untold;
He carpeted it with soft-rolling prairies
and columned it with thundering mountains;
He studded it with sweet-flowing fountains
and trace it with long-winding streams;
He planted it with deep-shadowed forests
and filled them with song.
Then He called unto a thousand peoples
and summoned the bravest among them.
They come from the ends of the earth,
each bearing a gift and a hope.
The glow of adventure was in their eyes,
and in their hearts the glory of hope.
And out of the bounty of earth and the labor of men,
Out of the longing of hearts and the prayer of souls,
Out of the memory of ages and hopes of the world,
God fashioned a nation in love, blessed it with
Purpose sublime.... and called it America!
(by Abba Hillel Silver)
Above poem says it all:

If not for our veterans we would not have our freedom as we do today. God remembers and tears flow as the wounds will forever mend.
Clyde A. McClellen, Jr.

I want to thank all the men and women who fought for the country I'm so glad and proud to call home.
My father was a WW2 vet. He was very proud of his service for his country. He felt it was his duty to do what he could. He passed away 8 years ago on Memorial Day. So this holiday means twice as much to me and my family.
And it is nice that at last these veterans are getting the memorial they deserve. My love and heartfelt thanks to the ones that are gone and to the ones that, thank the Lord, are still here.

Oklahoma, U.S.A.
Ray served his country nearly 50 years. First in the Air Force, from which he retired as a Master Sergeant in 1976. Then he worked for the United States Postal Service, retiring after 18 years as a supervisor.
Ray is missed by his wife, son, daughter, three granddaughters, other family and friends.
GOD BLESS the UNITED STATES and EACH ONE WHO SERVES in our ARMED FORCES.

We are so lucky to live in a country that has grown and prospered because of the many men and women that have served in our armed forces.
Thank you for your sacrifice and dedication. We are proud to be Americans!!
Carl and Marcia Rickert

My heart just breaks watching these young men work so hard and some of them giving their lives. Back in the States we have it so easy and take what we have so much for granted. I lost my father in WWII so I haven't ever had anything but the highest regard for a man in uniform. Being a mother, I can only try to imagine the agony these mothers of these boys go thru while their sons are gone from home, some never to return. I love my country and I only hope that if someday I am called on in anyway to defend my country, that I can be half as brave as these young men! Thank God for America!!.
Kathleen Weddle.

I would like to say to all Veterans of Armed Forces of all branches and services THANK YOU, for our Freedom.
The Beloz family salutes you all and we pray for our people that protect and keeps us out of harms ways.

Having been a military brat and then the wife of a soldier, I know how much these brave men and women gave! To all of you, especially Larry, who made the biggest sacrifice, thank you from the bottom of my heart! You will never be forgotten!

My Brothers Are In The Wind
440 Six Pak Superbees, Hemi Chargers, 4 Speed Roadrunners and the rest. Hendix on a AM radio, Joplin, Led Zepillin, Black Sabbath, Steppinwolf, Iron Butterfly, Aerosmith, The Stones and the Beatles. My first fast ride 69 Roadrunner, 135 mph, down to the strip joints to celibrate my 18th b-day. Guess I never forgot. We have luck on our side to survive the 60's and 70's. I lucked out and was a Veitnam Vet that served and didn't have to go outa the states. Served state side. Not without merit though, I ended up with many Bros in my arms that were reliveing whatever hell they saw in Viet Nam. Talk about a trip. Just partyin, then some dude just flips. Guys that were with him say they never heard that language. But he keeps repeating it word for word with death in his eyes. More than one Bro like this. Another, shot in the knee while going up the ladder in a KC135, Refueler for the B-52 Buff, (Bomber), hooked on morphine from the hospital, couldn't come home to the states until he got off the "H", herion, seems he scored his own medication when the docs wouldn't prescribe more. Physical need or mental? Read some on the net about vets, one in particular I remember. Fighter pilot goes down, plane smashed to bits, fires all around, pilot crawls with broken bones around the fires to find "The Kidd" as he called him, his Co-Pilot. When he found him, he was dead. Just laying their waiting to die in major pain, he hears choppers, they drop a ladder rope, he crawls to it, but can't hang on. Bullets chingin. The chopper flys off, in serious pain the pilot thinks he's dead meat, the center of attention now. The chopper returns, the pilots fingers are so burnt so bad he can't hang onto the rope. The chopper flys off. Bullets everywhere. Left to die, the pilot, says a prayer that he remembers as a kid. The chopper comes back a third time, two guys drop off the ladder and wrap a rope around the pilot and hoist him up. The chopper flies off while their loading him. And then a fourth time the chopper comes back, to pick up their crew. All while under gun fire.
Remember the Veitnam Vets, it isn't a war that they chose to fight, the purpose of the war was lost quickly in all the political scandals that went with it. The VV didn't hide their heads when it came time to stand up.
When they came back, jobs were still hard to find, they had to reastablish relationships with their wives and kids that that were born while they were gone.
They had to try and forget what they saw and kinda fit into life real quick. Most won't say anything about their experiences, they have done well at hiding the hurt they feel, who knows how much mental anger is there for starting their life out with such turmoil.
All I can do is bow my head for Brothers Lost and Salute those who survived...
If I ever get my cars restored I will remember the times and the Bros that made that time the best in my life, and I will drive my cars, like they should be driven, right foot to the floor, leavin the pavement at a good hill, for a brief moment, experiencing the rush that my Brothers experienced rounding a jungle tree.
Whether we will live or whether we die is not up to us. Better live life to the fullest. Life without a Rush... is just Dust.
440 to the floor
Thankx...
Roadrunner

I can not thank those enough that have given their lives so that I Can live mine. I know that i am going to follow in the same steps that so many before me have walked. some have given their lives some have spilled blood, sweat, and tears in the heat of battle for our freedom. I want every one to know that i am willing to lay down my life to save any of my brothers and sisters out there fighting to save our country. I feel the heart felt sorrow for all the families that have lost a loved one and the pride that comes with those mixed feelings of knowing that their contrbution to our country has made it a better place to live. I leave you with one last thought
Semper Fidelis...

I think about you two a lot and our high school days in North Carolina. May God have both of you two in heaven.
John L. Smith

Thank You, seems so trivial in comparison to the countless thousands of gallons of red American blood that has been shed to buy our freedom. We must never forget that Religious freedom and a trust in GOD Almighty, is the premise for the formation of this great nation. My father served in the 45th Army National Guard in the early 60's. His mother's brother is memorialized in the Philippines for his ultimate sacrifice at Corrigador (forgive me if the spelling is incorrect) Quartermasters WWII. My father's uncle is a WWII Navy veteran. My mother's Brother is a Vietnam vet. Thank You to all those who have fought and still fight for The United States of America! Old Glory is the symbol to the world that Freedom Still Rings! Thank GOD for a president who is fighting to stop the cowards of terrorism who hate us because we represent freedom.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!

To all of the brave Americans who have served our great country and have given their lives for our precious feedom:
May we always be mindful of the price of freedom and the great sacrifices that were made by those who have served and the families of those who have served. Thank you is not enough but respect and empathy must follow. We are all enjoying what so many have not and never will enjoy. Great sorrow is felt this day as we reflect and remember what those brave men and women have done for our country but also great joy in knowing that their sacrifices were not in vain and that God blessed America when he gave us all of them!
With Sincere Gratitude,
Nancy Stephens

SO MANY WONDERFUL WORDS HAVE BEEN WRITTEN TO THANK ALL OF OUR VETERANS, THAT I JUST WANT TO ADD A FEW WORDS ABOUT THE PRESENT AND THE FUTURE. I SUPPORT THE PARALYZED VETERANS OF AMERICA EACH AND EVERY YEAR. SAYING THANK YOU AND TELLING THEM ALL WHAT HERO'S THEY ARE IS WONDERFUL AT THIS TIME OF YEAR PARTICULARLY, BUT LET US NOT FORGET THE REST OF THE YEAR...SEPT.11 OPENED OUR EYES FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A VERY LONG TIME AND WE BECAME AFRAID AND DEPENDED ON OUR MILITARY PERSONNEL TO PROTECT US.
WE NEED TO HONOR THEM ALL YEAR WITH DONATIONS TO HELP WITH ALL THE THINGS THEY NEED. NOT JUST A THANK YOU ONE DAY A YEAR. GOD BLESS THIS WONDERFUL COUNTRY OF OURS AND GOD BLESS YOU, OUR PROTECTORS.
DARLENE..OREGON

Bless you all that have fought for our country whether you be man or woman. What you have given us "OUR FREEDOM TO KEEP" and a country to be proud of we can never repay you! We as the American people will always be indebted to you for your bravery, your love, your kindness towards your fellow man. I am proud to be a sister of someone that served in Viet Nam and know how much anguish he went through when he came home. I give you "ALL" along with Jesus. For all the suffering you have endured during the wars and after if you are not rewarded on this earth you will stand mighty beside our Lord in Heaven when the day comes!
Love you all!
Judy N. Marquart

I never realized what patriotism was until 9-11. My father use to cry every time he heard the National Athem. Now I understand for I do the same thing. GOD BLESS OUR YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN OF THE SERVICE.
Mariann

All too often, we take every day for granted without any thought what so ever of the 100's of thousands of soldiers who followed the orders of their respected commanding officers right to their very last breath.
Never to return, gone forever, and mostly forgotten. God bless !!!
Forever Thankful,
Keith Berg

My husband was in the Marines (4 years) in WWII, while I worked at the Pentagon as a Stenographer Clerk during that same period. My brother was injured in Korea and died at age 19, my son served 4 years in the Marines and one year in Viet Nam. I thank God that they came out of the Service without injury. I do pray that the Viet Nam war memorial will one day be built.

I have a nephew who will be going into the Marines this June and I am an aunt who is extremely proud that he is choosing to do this on his own. His father is extremely patriotic, in fact our whole family is.
I want the women and men who are in the services today to know that God is on our side because it is the RIGHT side.
GOD BLESS AND TAKE CARE. WE ARE PROUD OF EVERY ONE OF YOU.

As there are no words to thank our Heavenly Father for giving His life for us, there are no words to thank our Veterans! God bless them all, may they get their rewards in Heaven.
God Bless.
John Bonnie Adkins

My heart goes out to the men and woman who will be sent off to war to protect our country. The sad part is that they are protecting everyone else's countries too. Why the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA also has to fight for the freedom of everyone else and they cannot stand behind. SHAME ON FRANCE because our armed forces have pulled them from the depths of hell in WWI and WWII. What a great country we live in and how proud we should be. We shouldn't be protesting this war, we should be standing behind the President of the U.S. for having the courage to stand up for our freedoms. In the bible, (Deuteronomy) God says it's okay to go to war as long it is for the right reasons and I think attacking us on September 11, 2001 was good enough reason for me.
GOD BLESS THE U.S.A.
Mariann

Just Souls
Lift up your voice. Follow me
Thank the ones who kept us free
Whether field of home or Isle of Nam
Offer prayers and an open palm
Salute the brave, the tried, the true
Who loved Liberty through and through
Who clutched the torch and held it high
Who ran with it to the battle cry
For souls like me and you
Who loved our country more than self
Left comfort home upon a shelf
Risked it all for freedom's hue
Doing, of course, what they had to do
For souls like me and you
We have a choice. Follow them
In faith; pave the way for future men
Light of hope around them pearled
Or live oppressed in a bitter world
Evil is still alive on planet Earth
Caring not for Freedom's worth
Peace and Love beyond their grasp
Doomed to Hell's eternal lock and hasp
The soldiers die. The poppies blow
Toward Heaven's fields, row-by-row
Plucked from Earth; and by and by
We, each, will reach beyond the sky
To touch a petal where poppies grow
Just souls like you and I
Nancy "Lilripple" Meek

Thank you for the sacrifices you made to keep us free. God bless all veterans past and present who were willing to fight for freedom and justice. It is you that have made the United States the greatest nation on Earth.
Best wishes,
Terri

Words cannot express how very proud I am of my Dad (William F. Berry) who sacrificed his life by serving in the U.S. Army on the battle field in the South Pacific during World War II. He undoubtedly was very brave and strong and I will always admire him for the many sacrifices he made for our country.
Also, I am also very grateful to my brother (Franklin) who also served in the U.S. Army in the Viet Nam conflict in 1971.
I am very thankful that the Lord returned both of them safely home to their loved ones. You two guys are definitely my heroes and I thank you for your courage, valor, and sacrifice in serving our country that we may continue to enjoy the many freedoms we enjoy today.
May God bless both of you!!

MAY THE MILITARY PERSONNEL WHO SERVED OUR COUNTRY SO BRAVELY AND GAVE THEIR LIVES SO THAT WE MAY LIVE IN FREEDOM NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. WE OWE THEM OUR DEEPEST RESPECT AND HONOR. I WOULD LIKE TO GO AND STAND BY THE VETERAN'S MEMORIAL WALL SOMEDAY AND PAY MY RESPECTS. THEY MAKE ME PROUD TO BE A CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, THE GREATEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD! GOD CONTINUE TO BE WITH THEM ALL.
EILEEN STANLEY

Thank You for protecting our humanity. Our Children our future Military Personnel. We are the greatest country around. I just wish you all knew how much we loved and cared about you. Maybe one day our movie stars will realize where it is at and give each and every one of you the money that you are worth. I want you to know I think that the military should be one of the highest paid positions you can get. But unfortunately our government doesn't see it like that. I WANT TO THANK EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU FOR A JOB WELL DONE EVEN THOSE THAT HAVE DIED IN DUTY. I WILL KEEP THEIR FAMILIES IN MY PRAYERS AND THE REST OF YOU ALSO.
